Ladybugs Live

Used as a beneficial insect in your garden. They mainly feed on aphids, mealybugs and insect eggs but will also help control small caterpillars, mites, whiteflies and scale among other things. 

Things to consider when releasing ladybugs:

• They need to be kept in the refrigerator until release
• Spray a fine mist of water on the plants before the release. If there is dew on the plants, this step can be skipped
• Release should happen at dusk or early evening. They will fly away if released in the heat of the day. 
• They can be released in groups over a few hours or days to keep them in your yard
• Place the ladybugs at the base or near plants with heavy populations of pests
• Consider placing an index card with a few drops of honey on it near the ladybugs so they have a quick energy source until they reach the pests
